Cate is Chief Strategy and Finance Officer at the Chicago Red Stars, Chicago’s NWSL team. Prior to her recent move to the Red Stars, Cate worked as a Director of Strategy & Corporate Development at the Chicago Cubs where, in addition to driving traditional corporate and media rights strategy, she invested in businesses within the sports and entertainment industry, including leading the acquisition of
the Red Stars on behalf of Laura Ricketts and her investor group. Prior to the Cubs, she held multiple roles in private equity, at Centerbridge Partners and their portfolio companies, and as a consultant at FTI Consulting. Cate received her BS in Finance from Miami University and her MBA from University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business where she graduated with distinction.
