Nancy Atufunwa is Senior Vice President, Client Services for Octagon. In her role, Atufunwa leads Octagon’s efforts with a collection of prominent Fortune 500 companies around their Olympic & Paralympic Movement sponsorships, strategy, and activations.
An industry veteran with nearly two decades of experience across the sports industry, Atufunwa has spent her career growing some of the world’s most renowned brands and properties across the sports world, including more than decade leading Olympic and Paralympic sponsorships and programs. Since joining Octagon, Atufunwa has played a pivotal role in continuing to develop the agency’s key client sponsorships ahead of the Olympic & Paralympic Games Paris 2024, Olympic & Paralympic Games Milano Cortina 2026, and Olympic & Paralympic Games Los Angeles 2028.
Prior to joining Octagon in 2022, Atufunwa served as Head of Partnerships for G.O.A.T. Fuel Energy, which was founded by three-time Super Bowl Champion and Pro football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice. Previously, Atufunwa spent four years as Senior Director and Head of Marketing and Partnerships for USA Water Polo, overseeing partnership strategy, merchandising, and brand campaigns, including creating a first-of-its-kind “Water Polo Tough” campaign highlighting the mental toughness of its athletes both in the water and the community. Atufunwa has also held a succession of senior leadership positions, primarily focused on Olympic and Paralympic Marketing among other competencies, at sports marketing agencies MKTG, Learfield, and Endeavor.
Atufunwa earned her Master’s degree from the University of Louisville as well as an MBA Foundations Certificate from the Wharton School of Business. She graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder with dual bachelor’s degrees in both Communications and Business Administration. Atufunwa is based out of Octagon’s Los Angeles office.
