Michael Sciortino joined UBS Arena in July 2020 and has spent the last year planning for the arena opening as the General Manager overseeing operations, housekeeping, engineering, security, guest experience, event services, and technology.
Previously, he worked for the Golden State Warriors organization as the Vice President of Operations, opening up Chase Center in September of 2019, the state-of-the-art sports and entertainment arena in San Francisco. There, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of Chase Center, overseeing ‘back of house’ functions, such as event operations, conversions, production, housekeeping, engineering and the overall physical upkeep of the facility.
Prior to the Warriors, Sciortino spent over eight years heading up facility and event services at Madison Square Garden. And before that, he worked for the New York Islanders at the Nassau Coliseum for five years. His previous employer for three years was with the Triple A baseball team, the Buffalo Bisons.
A native of New York, Sciortino received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Buffalo.
Michael currently resides on Long Island in Rockville Centre with his wife Sarah and their two daughters, Catherine and Lillian.
