Gabe Spitzer is a multi Emmy Award-winning entertainment executive and filmmaker. As Vice President of Nonfiction Sports, he oversees the sports strategy for Netflix.
In his previous role as Director of Documentary Series, he was across a variety of global nonfiction content, including Harry & Meghan, Full Swing, Cheer, Chef's Table, Last Chance U, The Last Dance (produced with ESPN), Untold and jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy. He was featured on The Hollywood Reporter's annual Next Gen list for rising executives 35 and under.
Formerly, he was the Senior Vice President of Original Programming at Fox Sports, where he launched their documentary division. As an independent filmmaker and producer, he directed two installments of the acclaimed ESPN 30 for 30 series. His documentaries have appeared at Sundance, SXSW and Tribeca Film Festivals.
Spitzer spent most of his early career at HBO, where he was a producer and director on sports documentary series. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University, with a degree in English and Government.
