Will Blackmon played 12 seasons in the National Football League. He began his football career with the Green Bay Packers when he was drafted out of Boston College as a cornerback and punt return specialist. Will went on to play for the New York Giants, with whom he won a Super Bowl Championship in Super Bowl 46.
He went on to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars and finished his career with the Washington Redskins.
Will is currently a football coach at Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, CA.
Will is also a TV sports analyst. He is a presenter on networks like, NFL Network, Sky Sports in London & Fox Sports.
In 2015, Will launched the Blackmon Football Academy to host free camps for kids 7-14 years old.
Will’s other passion is wine. Due to his strong desire to learn more about wine, his goal is to become a Master Sommelier. He has completed his level 2, through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, also known as the W.S.E.T. He also passed his Intro exam through the Court of Master’s Sommelier. Will continued his education by receiving a Certificate in Wine Business Management from Sonoma State University School of Business and Economics. Will is now coined as the “NFL Wine Guy”. He launched a VIP Wine Concierge business called, The WINE MVP as a way to educate, make wine more approachable as well as empower those looking to learn more about wine. Will believes when it comes to fine wine, everyone can be an “MVP’.
In 2020 Will was named one of Wine Enthusiasts “Top 40 Under 40 Tastemakers” in the United States. He has also been featured in several publications including, but not limited to, USA Today, Wine Spectator, Washington Post & Vine Pair highlighting Will’s passion for wine and his successful journey transitioning from the football field to beautiful vineyards around the world.
In November 2021,Will received the honor of being inducted into the Boston College Hall of Fame.
Will is on the board for the nonprofit organization “Uniforms for Hope”. In many countries, children cannot attend school unless they wear a uniform. This affects millions of children who cannot afford them. This organization empowers children overseas and provides them with the necessary uniforms to enable them to attend school and receive the education they need to enrich their lives.
